Congrats GM you won. You destroyed my childhood dream and made me hate my car. I guess GM's mission statement these days is to make sure that its former loyal customers move to your competitors.
Since I was a kid I dreamt about owning a Camaro now that I do, I curse the day I walked in a Chevy dealership. I guess I learned that the LT stands for. "Less Transmission" cause the crap you installed in my car cannot be called a transmission.
You made my jaw drop when I heard I have a toyota transmission. If I wanted to buy a Japanese car I would have bought a toyota or honda. You made me chase dealerships, spend numerous hours on the phone with your customer service with no end or resolution in the near future.
So lets see what your competition has that you do not have: lets start with a working transmission. A car without a working transmission is not a car but a really expensive piece of lawn furniture. I am not a hippie nor I am a redneck so what I am supposed to do with a 30G piece of furniture? The worst part is that when the driver's side chair broke, I had to wait 3 months for parts. So the piece of lawn furniture you sold me, does not even have good seats.
Most dealers refuse to acknowledge the problem and with good reason there are no fixes. To all those that doubt me check out the camaro5 forums. I am pretty sure not all of us can synchronize so that we all have the same problem. Lord knows I have tried to get a solution to my problem. I event went as far as getting a diagnostic from a Mr. Transmission. Yeah like that helped, GM just ignored me once again.... Just spent 9 months trying to get my transmission fixed, I guess I got 4 year to got till the car is out of warranty and GM comes out with a fix. I even tried to send to your customer service center videos of my "WORKING AS DESIGNED" transmission locking. No luck called GM more that 14 times in the last two days. Since there is no one at GM I can mail about my problem, I guess I can just send this to everyone so enjoy.. Gee thanks GM for not even investigating the problem, I guess you have to stay on mission the faster you lose me and others as customers the better.
I guess not giving a shit about your customers is the norm for a governmental organization. To add insult to injury some dealers will say your transmission is
working as designed. I guess GM should rename the Camaro from Bumblebee to GRRRRRRRINNDEEEEEEEEEEEE... Seriously i have driven 20 year old Lada's that had better transmissions.
You win again by convincing me never again to buy your product. The irony is that everyone I know, warned me not to buy a Camaro. My answer was GM makes good cars.. here's the kicker GM no longer exists it has been replaced by the monster called Government Motors. So let's see the 5 /100000 warranty does not cover grindy locky transmissions. OMG, that's such a good warranty, I am so happy I bought extended warranty!!
I cannot call GM realiable or dependable anymore. It not dependable because you cannot count on the Camaro to get you from point A to point B and it not reliable because its not consistent. Sometimes its grindi sometimes its not sometimes it locks sometimes it doesn't.
The worst part is when searching for a solution online to the camaro problems I keep stumble-ling upon articles from the press that say "GM says Camaro transmission fixed but will not say what the fix is". Could it be that its just a placebo? I think so.. GM's new policy deny all claims much like the government social insurance programs.
Seriously does anyone at GM know how to use google?? This problems with this transmission are well known the Lexus IS250, the Tacoma had them years ago. Now that Toyota does not even use its own product but its good enough for GM.
To anyone that wants to buy a GRRRRRINDY don't unless you plan to use it as lawn furniture.
I understand you're going through issues with the car of your dreams. I had the same issues with an early Mini Cooper. However, stop being a cry baby about this and use the tools provided to you by our legal system. If you're having this many issues with your Camaro, contact a lemon lawyer and force GM to buy the car back.
ReplyDelete@justryan there is no lemon law in canada. The car's condition will not allow me to get a fair price for it because of the crappy transmission. The only thing left to do is to contact BBB.
